I’m beyond thrilled to be returning to the Neue Galerie’s cabaret series at Café Sabarsky, Wednesday, March 11 at 7pm! Please join Tracy Stark (music director) and myself as we stravage through the mires and magic of Weimar-era Berlin, invoking Marlene, Minnelli, and Minogue in our musical conjuring of fabulousness past and present.
Hailed as the “David Bowie of cabaret” (Broadway World), Australian cabaret star Kim David Smith returns to Café Sabarsky with a dazzling celebration of the glitter, doom, and decadence of 1920s Berlin. Performing a gorgeously arranged repertoire in costumes by Miodrag Guberinic (who has worked with stars such as Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Madonna), Smith conjures the extraordinary and prescient world of the Weimar era with an enthralling, “slyly subversive” (The Wall Street Journal) blend of style, wit, and elegance.
